Why are implants a great option for people with missing teeth? Well, there’s several reasons. I mean, the main one is you’re replacing the tooth. So of course they’re not, you know, you’re giving them a tooth back where they don’t have one.
But compared to where bridges were, you know, conventional back in the days, a lot of times, let’s say somebody had a tooth that went bad, the other two teeth on either side can be perfect. But the only way to give that tooth, get that tooth replaced in the middle was to, you know, prepare and cut down teeth that had nothing wrong with them. With implants, now they have a single tooth.
You leave the teeth that have nothing wrong with them alone. And in addition to that, now they can floss in between instead of having floss starters and everything’s attached. So that’s an advantage.
And in addition, you’re only dealing, let’s say there’s something with one of the teeth on the other side of the implant or the implant itself, you’re still only dealing with one tooth. Whereas if you have a bridge and something goes wrong with one teeth, now you’re dealing with three teeth or maybe four teeth, depending on how many implants or how many bridges are on it.
